If oral thrush doesn't go away

Treatment should be started with a daily dose of an antifungal medicine. This can be in the form of a capsule that is taken by mouth every day or a pessary that is inserted into the vagina. Because treatment has to go on for a long time, most patients prefer to take something by mouth. The treatment has to continue until you are completely better. This often takes three to six months. At this point, the dose is gradually reduced to the lowest level that will control your symptoms over the next 6 months. This varies from patient to patient and some are not able to reduce their medication at all.

If it was thrush, it should have responded to the diflucan by now. Usually a person only get thrush if they take lots of antibiotics, were you on any? I can tell you one other thing that is readily available that might help, it is a mouth rinse called Biotene, that you can get at any drug store or mass retail store, they also have a toothpaste called Biotene. They contain no sodium lauryl sulfate, No alcohol, it has natural enzymes and it truly has fixed many a problem with my tongue getting those swollen bumps on them and being sore. These things tend to hit me because I was on antidepressants and it dried my mouth out. It was designed to heal sores in the mouths of chemo patients and it really works on a number of oral problems. It is worth a try. Hope you get better soon.

While most sores and infections can be treated and/or managed effectively, some are more serious and in rare instances could be a sign of oral cancer. Be on the lookout for a white or reddish patch inside the mouth, as well as a lump or thickening of the skin or mouth lining. Other symptoms include tongue pain, loose teeth, jaw pain, difficulty in chewing or swallowing, or even just a sore throat. Oral cancer can occur anywhere in the mouth, including the gums, lips, tongue, roof of the mouth, floor of the mouth and inside lining of the cheeks and the throat.

Ive had it also for a while now and i would suggest lemon water with atleast 3 to 4 slices of lemon no ice. And buy either a 20 oz sprite or a 2 liter and dont just drink it straight up use it as kind of a mouth wash bc the carbonation will help kill off aome of the unwanted bacteria. Take a swig and leave it in for about 5 to ten seconds im guessing near the back of your throat and tounge area and spit. Do that till you see some results and after a while start swallowing bc some of the bacteria is good. You may experience some slight diarrhea which i have as well but it seems to have cleared things up nicely
